Ferric chloride, covalent compound, inorganic iron salt, molecular weight 162.204, appears as a blackish-brown liquid. It is prone to deliquescence in moist air and hydrolysis in solutions with low acidity, forming ferric hydroxide colloid. It is readily soluble in water, methanol, ethanol, but insoluble in glycerol (glycerol). When dissolved in water, it releases a large amount of heat, forming a coffee-colored or brownish-yellow acidic solution, from which hexahydrate ferric chloride (FeCl3·6H2O) with crystalline water can be precipitated.

1.In the field of water treatment: It is an efficient flocculant for urban sewage and industrial wastewater treatment, capable of significantly precipitating heavy metals and sulfides. It also has the functions of decolorization, deodorization, oil removal, phosphorus removal, and reducing COD and BOD in the effluent.
2. Industrial applications: It is used for etching printed circuit boards and serves as an etching agent in the production of circuit boards and fluorescent digital cylinders in the electronics industry. It is also a catalyst and oxidant for organic synthesis, and can be used to produce iron salts such as iron phosphate, medicine, pigments and inks.
3. Construction industry: When its solution is added to building concrete, it can enhance the strength, corrosion resistance and prevent water seepage of buildings. It can also be used as an early strength agent for concrete (with a dosage not exceeding 2%), and as a waterproofing agent when the dosage is greater than 3%

Packaging: Ferric Chloride Solution Usually, 25kg plastic drums, ton drums or tank trucks are used for packaging.
Storage: Store in a cool, well-ventilated warehouse, away from sources of ignition and heat. The packaging must be sealed. It should be stored separately from oxidants, active metal powders, etc. Mixed storage is strictly prohibited. The storage area should be equipped with appropriate materials to contain spills.
Transportation: It is strictly prohibited to mix and transport with oxidants, active metal powders, edible chemicals, etc. When transporting, the transport vehicle should be equipped with emergency leakage treatment equipment. During transportation, it should be protected from exposure to sunlight, rain and high temperatures.
