Product Introduction
Product Introduction
Ferric chloride (FeCl3 in English), a covalent compound, is an inorganic iron salt with a molecular weight of 162.204. It appears as blackish-brown crystals (or in thin flaky forms). It is prone to deliquescence in humid air and hydrolysis in solutions with low acidity, forming ferric hydroxide colloid. It is readily soluble in water, methanol, ethanol, acetone, and ether, but insoluble in glycerol. When dissolved in water, it releases a large amount of heat, forming an acidic solution that is coffee-colored or brownish-yellow. From the solution, ferric chloride hexahydrate (FeCl3·6H2O) with crystalline water can precipitate.

Application
1. Metal etching: Ferric chloride can be used for etching materials such as copper, stainless steel, and aluminum, and it also includes metal etching. Etched products include spectacle frames, watches, electronic components, nameplates, etc.
2.  Wastewater treatment: FeCI3 can be used for the treatment of raw water with low oil content, wastewater with high toxicity, high nitrogen content, and high COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand), etc. It has the advantages of good effect and low cost, but at the same time, it can also cause the water color to turn yellow.
3.In the dye industry, ferric chloride can also be used for engraving on printing and dyeing rollers, the production of circuit boards and fluorescent digital cylinders in the electronics industry, and as an oxidant in the dyeing of Indymium dyes, etc.
4. In the construction industry, FeCl3 can be used to prepare concrete to enhance its strength, corrosion resistance, and waterproofing. It can also be mixed with ferrous chloride, calcium chloride, aluminum chloride, aluminum sulfate, hydrochloric acid, etc., to form a waterproofing agent for concrete.
5. Inorganic industry: Ferric chloride can be used to produce other iron salts, inks, or catalysts (such as catalyzing the decomposition of H2O2);
6. Metallurgical industry: Anhydrous ferric chloride is used as a chlorination leaching agent for extracting gold and silver.
