Product Introduction
Product introduction
Ferric Chloride (FeCl₃) is a highly versatile and indispensable chemical compound with widespread applications across multiple industries. Primarily, it serves as an exceptionally effective coagulant and flocculant in water and wastewater treatment plants, crucial for purifying drinking water and treating industrial effluent. Beyond this, it is a fundamental etchant in the electronics industry for manufacturing printed circuit boards (PCBs), where it selectively removes copper to create precise circuit pathways. Furthermore, Ferric Chloride finds significant use in metal surface treatment, acting as a pickling and etching agent, and in the production of various pigments. Its role as a key ingredient in sludge conditioning further underscores its critical importance in modern industrial and environmental processes.

Product Feature
    1. FeCl₃ has strong chemical activity. Its Fe³+ ions show significant oxidizability, reacting with metals like copper (e.g., 2FeCl₃ + Cu = 2FeCl₂ + CuCl₂), enabling efficient dissolution and processing in metal etching and electronic circuit manufacturing.
    2. Ferric chloride excels in flocculation. When added to water, it hydrolyzes into Fe(OH)₃ colloids, which quickly adsorb impurities and heavy metals (e.g., Cr³⁺, Pb²⁺) to form fast-settling flocs. It has a wider pH range (pH 4-12) than traditional flocculants, ideal for high-turbidity industrial wastewater.
    3. FeCl₃ offers excellent etching efficiency. In PCB manufacturing, it has a controllable copper etching rate (5-15 μm/min), retains circuit patterns accurately, and its etching solution can be recycled to lower raw material costs.
    4. Ferric chloride is stable in storage and use. Anhydrous ferric chloride stays intact in dry, ventilated areas; its aqueous solution remains stable if kept away from strong alkalis/reducing agents.
    5. FeCl₃ has strong multi-scenario adaptability. Besides water treatment and PCB etching, it works for metal passivation and pigment synthesis. Different purities (industrial ≥96%, reagent ≥99%) cover mass production and lab use without switching products.

    Precautions
    1. Wear acid-resistant PPE (gloves, suits, goggles) and HCl gas masks for high-concentration FeCl₃ use (e.g., PCB etching); no eating/smoking in work areas.
    2. Use corrosion-resistant equipment (FRP, PVC). Add ferric chloride slowly to water (never reverse); monitor FeCl₃ concentration (38-42Be') and temp (45-55℃) in etching.
    3. Store anhydrous FeCl₃ in sealed drums (dry, ventilated area). Transport separately from strong alkalis/reducing agents; label as "corrosive".
    4. Treat waste liquid with lime (pH 7-8) and sodium sulfide (remove heavy metals); absorb HCl fumes with NaOH solution (meet emission standards).
    5. For leaks: use dry sand to absorb (avoid water). Rinse skin with water for 20 mins + apply NaHCO₃ ointment; seek medical help for eye contact.
