Product Introduction
Product Introduction
Sodium Sulfate (Na₂SO₄) is a common inorganic salt that typically exists in anhydrous form (Na₂SO₄) or as decahydrate (Na₂SO₄·10H₂O, known as Glauber's salt). It appears as white crystals or powder, is highly water-soluble, and forms a neutral aqueous solution. Widely used in chemical, glass, paper, detergent, and textile industries, it serves as an auxiliary agent, filler, or desiccant. Additionally, it has specialized applications in pharmaceuticals (e.g., laxatives) and food production (as additive E514). It can be sourced from natural mineral deposits or as a byproduct of industrial processes (e.g., hydrochloric acid production). While chemically stable, the decahydrate tends to effloresce in dry conditions, losing its crystalline water.

Application
  1. Sodium sulfate serves as a key filler in powdered detergents and soaps.

  2. Na₂SO₄ acts as a fluxing agent in glass manufacturing to eliminate air bubbles.

  3. Sodium sulfate functions as a leveling agent in textile dyeing and printing.

  4. Na₂SO₄ supports chemical recovery in kraft paper pulping processes.

  5. Sodium sulfate decahydrate (Na₂SO₄·10H₂O) works as an osmotic laxative in pharmaceuticals.
